One of the primary research goals of the lab is to develop computational methods to predict genetics disease and their outcomes based on the observed genotypes. We are pursuing this goal by developing algorithms which in addition to utilizing both rare and common variant but also the recent functional datasets becoming public. Some of the functional dataset which we will be using to increase our prediction powers include expression profiles of genes in different timepoints and tissues, protein-interaction networks, genetic networks, and atlas of non-coding regulatory elements (e.g. ENCODE and psychENCODE).  We recently developed a computational tools called Odin (Oracle for DIsorder predictioN) for ultra-accurate complex prediction of neurodevelopmental disorders (Huynh and Hormozdiari et al. RECOMB 2017).
